[ Note: Not sure if I should submit the character that this is about to the section below, so I opted not to in case that might be for something else / mess something up! ]
Formative.
Once was the day she fell in love again. It felt natural, easy, honey sliding off the spoon kind of simple joy. It was warm and nurturing and, for once, fulfilling. It was something she loved, she loved her love the tenderness she never knew she had. It was moments of kicking tall grass when soaring above the ground on a swing, tittering glass chimes in the wind, the annoyance of the sea’s brilliant glare, the kindness of sweeping a fallen vase with dry cheeks but a soaked brow. It was extensive and all-enveloping.
It was consuming in a manner that never took. It was generous and fragile.
So familiar was the lifespan of the bygone dreams of a desperate lover. In came the tide, out went the soul.
–
Melitodes finding Gerw. Gerw, their wolpergeist buddy, clambering out from the dirt was everything to Meli. The two were instantaneous, the perfect connection between someone a little lonely and someone a little lost. Sitting in a field, Meli would watch as Gerw bounded over, sweet boba eyes carrying not a single thought.
Call it a stretching memory, as Meli’s time with Gerw has been their favoritest thread of time, and will continue to be so, so long as peace in the Wildwoods persists.
Will that be? Unlikely. But no matter what, Meli will make their dreams known.
