[ FIRST MEMORY - 208 words ]
Being reborn was a troublesome experience to say the least. When you cannot smell or see or seemingly breathe, but you are still able to live, it becomes all that you can focus on. To sense the world in a way previously only comprehended in nightmares, only able to hear and touch, was terrifying as his first moments.
He moved to grab around him, eventually finding the smoothed wooden handle of a cane. He had no memory of it, but he had a feeling that it was meant for him. Even if it wasn't, he would find use for it in this new state. His body felt familiar and mysterious in the same breath.
As he pulled himself up, he heard the sound of his hooves against the ground, the soft dripping of liquid around his ears, which he also felt twitch on the top of his head. He felt his wings stretching one set after the next, making themselves known and allowing the kyrlicht a map of his body from his shoulders to his ankles.
His first memory was not something grand or exciting- it was simply the exploration of his senses and his body as it was now, with all the new additions... and the subtractions.
